The Escarpment residence by  is a current take on the traditional Australian farm residence positioned inside the town of Gerringong. This house is truely designed as a guesthouse with two beds with the number one purpose of creating the most out of the vicinity’s get admission to to ocean view panoramas to the south and delightful pastoral vistas to the north.

This modest mattress visitor house explores the vernacular farm shed, with a plan that’s charmingly simple yet extraordinarily taken into consideration in its element. located on a quintessentially NSW South Coast dairy farm. The design explores the vernacular metal portal body typology in a exceedingly refined and unique manner. The easy rectilinear floor-plan aligned with the long edges dealing with North/South, units up a robust number one axis as those also make pleasant use of the ocean and rural perspectives. the other strong axis is that of the East/West which aligns with the internal move path and the opposite predominant view to the signature Illawarra escarpment in the west. The factor of intersection among these axis forms a runway of wooden decks on either facet of the constructing. on the factor of access, a framed view through the constructing to the sea at the south side is shaped.
